The Hessian State Theater in Marburg, also known as the Hessian State Theater or HLTM for short, is a cultural enterprise in Marburg organized by public funds, income from donations and entrance fees. It is one of the six supported public theaters in the state of Hesse. The theater has four larger and smaller venues as well as a workshop with its own carpentry, locksmith and tailor shop. With a seasonally engaged ensemble, two managing directors and dramaturges as well as several trainees in event technology, but also with guest appearances and an external production, the HLTM shows plays, improvisational, provocative and imaginative theater as well as children's theater or solo programs. Old town
Marburg combines the nostalgic charm of an almost completely preserved medieval town center with the lively flair of a university town. The old town, which hugs the hill below the Landgrave Castle, is characterized by a myriad of winding alleys, hidden corners and crooked stairs. And the Weidenhausen district also has the character of an old town. The city breathes history: this is where Martin Luther met Huldrych Zwingli for a famous religious talk in 1529, where Saint Elisabeth worked from 1228 to 1231 and where Landgrave Philipp founded the first Protestant university in 1527. Buildings such as the imposing Landgrave Castle, the Gothic Elisabeth Church or the Lutheran Parish Church will take you back to bygone times.

Here the bed consists of a high-quality cold foam mattress is suitable for people up to 100 kg, (H3) this is a good supportive sleeping pad and good breathability.

The Marburg Südbahnhof is a 5-minute walk from our hotel. From there you can take the 1/2/4/7 buses in the direction of Gutenbergstraße to the historic old town and city center.
Marburg's main train station is about 10 minutes away from our hotel by car / taxi. This can be reached by bus from the south train station with the 1/2/3/4/7 in about 20 minutes
Surroundings
Nature lovers get their money's worth: Marburg is surrounded by a charming and varied landscape. Three tourist regions - the Burgwald, the Marburger Land and the Lahn-Dill-Bergland Nature Park - make up the area around the university town. The Lahn invites recreational athletes to hike along its banks or to take a boat - whether on a short pedal boat tour or an extensive canoe hike.
The Niederweimarer See lake, which is only a few minutes' drive from the hotel, has a large wakeboarding facility. Those who like it less exciting can just relax on the beach.
The Lahn-Dill-Bergland nature park with many premium trails on the one hand and the Burgwald with its "Traumroute Burgwaldpfad" and many other extra tours on the other hand make hikers' hearts beat faster. The harmonious surroundings can also be explored on the well-developed cycle paths along the Lahn. Salzböderadweg or Lahntalradweg invite you to extensive tours. And golfers will find an 18-hole golf course in Cölbe near Marburg.
A very special destination is also the Rauischholzhausen Castle, a Sleeping Beauty Castle, which is located in the middle of a 32 hectare English-style park.
